Inspirations

Today I have been looking for some inspiration for new knitting projects to plan for. Lots of reading of blogs, looking at gorgeous yarns and trying to resist the urge to add to my yarn stash.
To remind myself that I really should not add to the yarn stash I have grabbed the 2nd sock to a pair that I really need to finish. I have more projects on the knitting needles that also need to be completed before I can contemplate starting new ones. Somehow.... knitting gray socks for my husband starts getting a bit dreary and I have to start something new with lots of color. It must be that the cold dreary, raining days we have had all week and knitting gray socks just don't seem very uplifting. So.... knitting with color is a must!
So... the project I plan to begin next is knitting and felting more of the Booga Bags that I am planning to give as gifts. These are fun and quick to knit. In fact I still have my 2nd Booga Bag waiting to be felted along with a Night On The Town purse that also needs felted. These may finally make it into the wash today once I get the daily household chores completed. Housework first.... playing with knitting projects second. Blah! You all know it really should be the other way around. LOL!!!
Today while reading blogs I came across more about spinning. Yet another skill I am wanting to learn. I do have a great supplier of roving within minutes from my house that I have already bought roving from. I even have a drop spindle, top whirl and a good book for help with learning. I did have the owner of a LYS show me how to get started and have not tried it yet. It did look easy enough to try. I have this feeling though.... I am going to want a spinning wheel too. Yikes!!! Like I really need another "hobby". I am justifying it though since I love knitting and felting. This would provide me with my own wool that I have spun and use for the felted purses I am working on designs for. My next step with all of this is to attend a Fiber Festival this spring. There is one later this month and another one in May. Of course I want to go to both of these. I may only get to the one this month though since the Farmers Market season begins the first Saturday in May. This is where I sell my handmade soaps, lotions, bath & body products, also machine embroidered kitchen towels, baby burp cloths and also have been making lampwork glass beaded bracelets and earrings. So... I am busy also now with preparing for the beginning of another busy selling season at this market. I do this starting in May all the way through mid October. Then I do a few fall craft shows until the first weekend in November. This my last show for the year and by then.... I am so ready for time off. I then enjoy the entire holiday season and several months off from shows. Winter is a time for me to relax, do inventory, work on other things (this year I spent most of the winter getting back to knitting as I used to), reorganizing and starting to make new soaps for the years market season.
Today I know I have several hours of wrapping and labeling of soaps to get done. And need to make about a dozen batches of soap to have enough inventory for when the market season begins in May. Looks like a busy weekend with creating soap. And of course I plan to work on more knitting. This 2nd sock should be completed today. I will continue working on my husbands socks and begin another Booga Bag or two.
Well.... I am off of here to continue looking for wools on sale. Any suggestions of where to find some great wool bargains please let me know. This is when I wish I lived near the mills or knew of a local that raises sheep and produces wool yarn that I could buy. Right now I am also enjoying seeing lots of vibrant colors of handpainted wools and also wanting to do some Kool Aid dying myself.
Wishing a great day to all!

Sharon
