Spring Break

I have become behind in writing. My teenage children are on spring break. So, I won't be online much.
I have been busy..... I finished the 2nd sock to a pair I was knitting. grafted the toes and I was able to wear them this past weekend. Turned out nice. I now need to finish up the gray socks for my husband. Knitting with grey is kind of boring and as I mentioned.... I love to knit with vibrant colors. Much more exciting and interesting.
I also started knitting another Night on the town purse. Figured I would create this before using the remainder of each color yarn for another Booga Bag. Each of these skeins have enough yarn for both purses. The one I am now knitting is a handpainted with various shades of purple. The purse has eyelash yarn added to it and is also various shades of purple. These will look pretty once I have them completed.
I still have not felted the other Booga bag and Night on the town purse. I want to get these all made and do them all at once. Want to have them all the same exact size prior to felting.
Saturday I was bad.... bought more yarn. I place my first order with Patternworks. I found some yarn on sale that I just had to have. LOL!!! I can hardly wait for it to arrive here. I just checked on the order this morning and it was shipped yesterday. I am thinking it should arrive here by Friday or possibly tomorrow. I wish they would send a tracking # to know for sure. I may call and ask since I am not sure if the delivery must be signed for and want to make sure I am home.
This week I have been busy making ALOT of batches of soaps for the upcoming farmers market season which begins the first Saturday in May. I have lotion and salt scrubs to create. Also have embroidering to be done for making baby burp cloths and kitchen towels.
I also took my daughter shopping for fabric to make her a formal dress for her formal May dance. The fabric we chose will be 2 layers. One a shear over a satin. We found the perfect buttons, etc. Now to cut it all out and begin sewing. I have not sewn on delicate fabric like this in a few years. Pray that my machine treats the fabric well. I am sure it will it sews like a dream as well as it embroiders.
This weekend we have several birthdays in the family and I have two dresses to sew for my niece (4 years old) and grand-daughter (5 years old). I will also make one for my youngest niece who will be 2 in August. All the dresses are matching. I would be nice to have all the girls together to take photos. But.... may have to have everyone take photos and send them to me. I really enjoy making things for my family.
Today I take son to go visit and interview with a college. Hope this may be one that he will like to attend and all goes well. I am so proud of my son, Jason and very excited for him as he has been such a great student throughout his school years. He is my pride and joy.... a High Honor student. I just wish the best for him and hope for a very successful future for him. I feel great to have raised him and brought him through all these years to reach adulthood. It has not been easy..... but he is finally all grown up. I know he is scared though and I worry about him. I guess this is all part of being a Mom. These worries go on for a lifetime.... no matter how old our children are. It is hard to believe that he has grown up so fast and his youngest sister is just 4 years behind him. I will experience an "empty nest" within the next few years. Am I looking forward to that time? No, not really, I am very close with my youngest 2 children and no matter how we prepare ourselves for when our children will grown up and gone it is kind of sad to know that they will move on to adulthood and not be here as they have been. OK... enough of this "Mom" expressing how much I dearly love my family.
This weekend is Easter and we are hoping to spend some time with family in Cincinnati. It all depends on if my son, Jason is offered a job he has applied for and interviewing.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I know I am...... I am enjoying the time I have with my children as they are home for spring break.

Sharon
