Christmas and baby knitting projects, researching patterns
I have had to take things easy this week since I had another procedure done. I did not have a good reaction to anethesia..... yuk! And also recovering from a problem resulting from the procedure. But.... all will be OK. I should have biopsy results next week.... again. The procedure hopefully was a success also.
So.... for now.... I am not doing alot other than resting and knitting. The resting part is very boring..... but, I am enjoying the knitting of a few Christmas gifts for my family. At the moment I am making some Sophie purses for gifts. I have almost finished knitting another purse and hope to felt it this week.
I am researching ideas for gifts to make for my grandchild which is due in February. I really want to find a great book or patterns for making baby sweaters, booties, hats and blankets. I am not sure what else I will make. There are alot of free patterns online which I am bookmarking. I do have a Fiber Trends pattern to make a pumpkin hat and another Fiber Trends pattern which includes a strawberry and a few other hats. These will be sooooo cute! I want to find the one that is a berry hat.... also by Fiber Trends. It is purple with green around the band. Really a cute hat. I have found some cotton yarn that is the same that is used for making cotton dishcloths. I am hoping these yarns will work well with these patterns that I have. If not.... I will use the yarn for making more dishcloths.
I am also on the look out for some yarn for making a Charlotte's Web.... not Koigu.... some other handpainted yarn.... on sale. I want to make one that is all one colorway.... a handpainted yarn. Not various skeins of various colorways. I have seem a few of these shawls made with a silk blend and the price was even less than Koigu. I wish I could spin that thin consistently as a 1 or 2 ply lace weight yarn. That will come in time as I continue to to learn more about spinning. For now.... I am spinning a nice worsted and sport weight yarn. I am happy about that.
I have been looking for a nice tank top pattern to make a few tank tops for myself to wear for the end of summer. Recently I have seen a few on knitting blogs that I read and want to find the patterns that have been used.
This week I have had time to do more reading of blogs for some inspiration for future projects. Lots of very beautiful yarns have recently been bought from many yarn stores and it just makes me want some also.
This past weekend I managed to get more organizing done. Not as much as I had hoped.... but enough was accomplished to make room for my husband to work on some woodworking projects that he want to start this weekend. He plans to make me a quilt rack for displaying a few quilts that we have. I am excited that he is finding his way back to an old hobby that he has been away from for several years.
Well.... back to working on the latest Sophie purse.... this one is a gorgeous eggplant purple color with some furry novelty yarn around the top. I should finish this one later on this evening.
