School it out for the summer
It has been almost an entire month since I have had a chance to update. I apologize to those that may have been reading regularly and then all of a sudden.... I had stopped writing.
Here is the update.....
It has been a very busy, hectic month or so. The market season has begun and that takes up quite a bit of time with preparing each week with keeping up with making products to have a large inventory available throughout the busy market season.
My Dad was scheduled to have surgery last month and when doing the pre-surgical testing they found while doing the stress test that my Dad's blood pressure shot up and had to stop the testing. When doing the scanning after this test it was found that my Dad has had a minor heart attack recently. When they do not know. Also a complete blockage was found and a partial blockage. However.... his heart created another artery as a natural bypass. Dad had to go through more thorough testing and and required a catherization to take a better look at his heart. He is now on blood pressure meds, meds for helping with high cholesterol and also has nitro for when/if an attack should occur again. Dad is in complete denial of the seriousness of all of this and we as a family had to have a serious discussion with him. I for one.... as one that also has serious heart problems and recently hospitalized (February) for blood clots and heart problems.... I really helped in making him listen to what the doctor has instructed and told him not to cut back on meds just because he did not want to take them. Big mistake that can be. I have learned that the hard way in the past. Anyways.... I think Dad is OK for now. But really gave the entire family a scare a few weeks ago.
For several weeks prior to my children being out of school for the summer I was buy preparing for the graduation party I gave my son. Yes.... he graduated.... June 5th.... with honors. I am one very proud Mom. And yes.... I did shed a tear or two...both at the practice and graduation day. The graduation party was very nice. Had all of my family and close friends here to celebrate with my son. Also many of my son's friends, his girlfriend and her parents, a few of his teachers all shared in celebrating my son's graduation.
My youngest daughter's last day of school was June 9th. She is excited that next year she will be attending high school and looking forward to all the summer activities for cross country running and her choir group through school.
My oldest daughter and my 5 year old grand-daughter both came up for the graduation and spent that night afterwards to have more time with the family. Friday night before graduation she called to give me some great news......
I AM GOING TO BE GRANDMA.... AGAIN..... IN FEBRUARY 2005!!!! I am so happy for them. Unfortunately.... since losing their precious baby, Macy... in November 2003... my daughter and her husband are having some very, very serious marital problems that I wish had been resolved prior to this news. But..... that is for them to work out and can only pray that things will be much better. In the mean time.... I am excited about another grandchild... regardless. I am busy planning on what to create special for him or her. I am looking through patterns and need to look through a stash of baby yarns to start working on blankets, hats, sweaters and lots of other things. As you can see..... I love to spoil my grand-children. Hey.... that is a Grandmothers job.... to spoil the grandchildren.
I am busy with the learning process of spinning and have successfully spun over a dozen skeins of yarn. All look good and last weekend completed a red/white/blue purse with some of the first handspun. I hope to get this purse felted within the next few days. This purse I chose this wool to spin and make for myself. I found some really pretty cording also red/white/blue with tassles on it. And have a star shaped button to put on this purse.
Well folks..... this is all the time I have today to update my knitting diary. I will try to be more faithful in updating since things are now starting to settle down again since school is out for the summer. I am sure my children will find ways to keep me busy though.
