Focusing

It is raining outside and this makes a great day for curling up on the couch to watch a movie and knit all day. I seriously would not mind if it rained for several weeks. This would help settle down all the spring pollens in the air that is causing such trouble with allergies and asthma I am having trouble with. So bring on the rain and lots of it!
First though.... I had to do the weekly grocery shopping and running of errands that had been planned for yesterday. So today's the day... then after dinner will be a great time to relax, knit and enjoy the evening with my family.
For today.... I am focusing on trying to finish getting ready for the farmers market season where I sell the handmade soap and other bath/body products I create. I have been busy since yesterday afternoon finishing up with wrapping/labeling the last several batches of cured soap. And tomorrow I plan to make more lotions and salt scrubs with the help of my daughter. She is staying home as part of the "Take Your Daughter to Work" day tomorrow. My youngest daughter has been helping me with the market for the past 5 years years and we have such fun together. We are both excited about the season beginning next weekend.
I finished knitting another purse that I used K1P2 Parfait wool. I created this one with stripes of light rose and lilac. It really turned out pretty. I will felt it later on this week along with several other purses that I have knit and waiting for felting also. Last night I started knitting another purse... this pattern is the Sophie purse on MagKnits site. This purse will be a light aqua using K1P2 Parfait wool. This purse uses only one skein of yarn and has a very pretty twisted handle. I decided to give this purse a little extra shimmer by adding some eyelash yarn the last few rows. I also may embroider some 3D flowers with my embroidery machine which I will attach after felting.
Soon I hope to upload photos to an online photo page to show you all the projects I have been knitting. Also would love to show you my precious kitties and how much of a delight each of them are for our family. They all seem to be nearby when I am knitting... they want to "help". I am planning to start working on the blankets for Critters Knitters soon. I have searched through my containers which contain acrylic yarns that are just perfect for these blankets. I have found some really pretty colors and now trying to find some embroidery designs of paw prints that I plan to embroider on the blankets. Just want to add a cute little something extra for the kitty blankets I plan to create. This is such a great cause to knit for. My own kitties are all rescues and very much loved and well cared for. I hope to provide a little love to a few more rescues by making these blankets.
I am still hoping to be able to attend the Mid-Ohio Fiber Gathering this Saturday. I have never been to one of these gatherings and thought it would be a fun thing to go to with my daughter. I am praying for sunshine for that day of course.... and also for the allergies to subside atleast for that day. I am hoping maybe I can either watch or have someone teach me how to get started with spinning with a drop spindle. This is something that my daughter and I could learn to do together. I have the spindle, the roving and the willingness to learn.... I just need a bit of guidance to give spinning a "whirl".
